If you haven’t been to the San Juan Islands add it to your bucket list immediately! And even better, if you get invited to an island wedding in the PNW make sure you attend because there is nothing more magical than a wedding on San Juan Island. You’ll feel a million miles away from city life and you’re really just a quick ferry ride across the water. It’s the best escape anytime of year!
Jackie and Ziad’s wedding was the perfect ending to my 2023 wedding season! Their day was full of so much love, laughter, amazing food & drinks, and a real sense of community. I loved shooting at Saltwater Farm in Friday Harbor. It was only a few minutes away from the charming downtown area and was an unbelievably gorgeous, sprawling property. Ziad and Jackie’s wedding day was the perfect mix of a Fall day in the Pacific Northwest. The morning started off cloudy and wet, and by the late afternoon we got a few moments of sun! We had to get creative with group portraits given the weather and the size of the wedding party, but after all was said and done they turned out perfect and such a fun reflection of the day. Pro tip for any Washington brides or grooms: bring clear umbrellas to your wedding just in case you need coverage from the rain! You’ll be glad you have them if you end up needing them. The day ended in the barn with dinner and dancing where amazing speeches were shared, parents dances were held, and the entire group danced the night away with the live band. It was a Seattle wedding for the books, that’s for sure!
One of my favorite elements of Ziad and Jackie’s day was their venue. Saltwater Farm has a bunch of tiny homes on the property which meant a lot of their friends and family were able to stay overnight together. That sort of unique perk can really make a wedding weekend that much more memorable and special. I cannot wait to return next Summer for another Saltwater Farm wedding on San Juan island.
