Tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains within the city of Los Gatos sits the most enchanting, woodland wedding venue – Nestldown. Nestldown is a sprawling private property with ponds, beautiful gardens, a charming barn-like lodge, and forests all around. It’s like the most ideal PNW look and feel, but in Northern California!
And while I live in Seattle where there is an abundance of forests and greenery, I’ve had my eye on this Northern California wedding venue for quite some time! So when Jason and Emily reached out to me about documenting their spring wedding at Nestldown I was all in and super excited to finally get the opportunity to work there.
And it did not disappoint!
I will say, however, I definitely got a work out in on this wedding day. Nestldown is a huge property with some serious hills, but it was so worth the extra walking! Getting to jump from a forest to a groomed garden and then over to a pond with a vintage taxi?! That’s just unheard of and it made the portraits so fun and easy. Although, there were so many different backdrops we ended up needing to limit where we shot so we could continue on with the rest of the evening! My favorites were definitely the ceremony site in the forest and this little pathway that led through these brightly colored flowers and string lights. Gahh so good!
Oh, and you may remember Emily and Jason from their Rattlesnake Ledge engagement session in North Bend, WA. (These two can’t seem to escape the beauty of the forest!)
The night concluded with a beautiful dinner inside the lodge where Jason and Emily celebrated with their friends and family, ate great food, drank lots of cocktails, and roasted s’mores outside by the pond. They left the party in a vintage taxi where their guests waved goodbye and wished them well as the new Mr. + Mrs. Kwan!
