I’m clearly on a white barn kick right now! Lombardi House in Los Angeles and Dairyland in Snohomish are two of my favorites wedding venues because I just can’t get over how beautiful and fun it is to photograph weddings when a white barn is involved. Obviously those two white barns have very different aesthetics to them, but the color simply makes it possible to create any sort of color scheme or theme a couple could want without it clashing and allows for a clean backdrop for light and bright images!
Jenna and Phil were married last August at Dairyland in Snohomish, which is about 45 minutes outside of Seattle. The property at Dairyland is actually much bigger than I expected before seeing it in person! I would highly recommend this space for large weddings in the summer or early fall when you can host your ceremony and cocktail hour outside and then bring everyone together inside the barn for dinner and dancing. Because the property is so large, we had a lot of options for portraits and even found a flower farm with so many gorgeous blooms! We utilized the flower farm for some stunning bride and groom portraits right at golden hour, and oh my gosh … HEAVEN! Not every wedding works out to sneak the bride and groom away for golden hour shots, but when it does work out it’s always so worth it! Even five minutes properly timed can create some of the most epic couples’ photos.
One last thing I want to mention that is very unique to this Seattle wedding day was the groom’s suit choice! It’s very rare to have a groom go outside of the norm with a grey, blue, or black suit. Those colors are just very classic, timeless, and look great on everyone! But when I saw Phil I was blown away by how great he looked. Not only can he rock that deep red color, but it fit so well with the florals and overall wedding colors. So his suit choice actually really helped carry their theme and colors throughout every image he was in! I am definitely here for more men wearing colorful suits on their wedding day! And if the suit color is too much, try a fun tie or bowtie to add character and personality to a traditional wedding look!
Congratulations Phil and Jenna! And thank you for allowing me to be apart of such a special day!
