Lombardi House Wedding in Hollywood // Tim + Jessie

The Lombardi House is one of those bucket list wedding venues that wedding photographers all across the country dream of shooting at. It’s a quaint colonial style home nestled in an old Hollywood neighborhood that is now surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles including shops, restaurants, and lots and lots of traffic! But because of the ease of the location and the unique style of the property for that area, the Lombardi House hosts hundreds of events and weddings every year.

The Lombardi House may just look like a casual backyard wedding, but the barn is a major attraction and focal point of this particular space. My favorite aspect of this Los Angeles wedding venue is the color of both the home and barn — white! The reason I really love the white color is that it helps this actually small property to feel bigger, brighter, and provides a neutral and clean backdrop wherever you go. Could you imagine if the interior of the barn was a classic dark wood? It would feel very cramped and dark, and the photos would reflect that. The white is such a special element and one of the reasons why I would shoot weddings at the Lombardi House every weekend if I could!

Jessie and Tim were married last October when LA was dealing with a lot of unexpected rain. A few weeks before I shot another wedding at Lombardi House and we had to deal with an entire morning of rain which caused a few issues, so I felt like we were so lucky to have no rain and lots of sunshine on Tim and Jessie’s big day!

They decided to host their ceremony on the lawn with the barn as the backdrop, and the reception was held inside the barn. I thought this was ideal because all of the reception could be set up ahead of time and closed off from guests so there was less of a flip to do during cocktail hour! Very smart and helpful for taking detail shots of everything.

One of the standout elements of Tim and Jessie’s wedding were the florals. Bloom Babes knocked it out of the park with every floral element that day! From the bouquets and centerpieces to the pampas grass and greenery surrounding their seating chart and welcome signs, I was speechless. Good florals (and having enough of them) are one of the best ways to bring life to an event and the final images from a wedding.

I basically loved everything about this day so I’ll let the photos do most of the talking for me! But trust me, I’ll be back again, Lombardi House!
