Claire and Ryan are two Seattle transplants that decided to tie the knot in Washington and bring out all of their friends and family for a wedding weekend to remember in the Pacific Northwest! Not only are Ryan and Claire the most caring, kind, and fun people, but they also have amazing style and are beyond gorgeous. Pair that with styling + coordination from Heather of Alexis Marie Events, a stunning setting at JM Cellars along with a beautiful spring day in Seattle and this is what you get!
I think the biggest challenge of being a wedding photographer in Seattle is dealing with the weather and in particular the always changing, unreliable weather forecast. The week of the wedding we were all so nervous because the forecast was predicting rain ALL week and into the weekend. And when you plan a beautiful bohemian wedding in the forest the last thing you want to do is move everything indoors. But luckily on the morning of the wedding we woke up to blue skies with some clouds and no rain! It was a wedding day miracle. We ended up with a perfect situation for taking bride and groom photos by the water and in the forest. And just as the sun started to go down a few drops fell and then the downpour began, which was so classically Seattle and the guests didn’t mind the rain once they were under the tent for dinner and dancing. In fact, I thought the evening rain created a cozy and intimate feeling!
A really special element of Ryan and Claire’s day was Ryan’s mom’s table settings. She actually put together each table with unique trinkets, décor, and florals. It was beautifully boho and simple, but had so much detail. I love that she took the time to add such a personal touch to her son’s wedding day!
Congrats to the newlyweds, Claire and Ryan! And thank you for having me along to document your special day.
