A few weeks ago I photographed my very first Portland Oregon wedding! And to top it all off, the wedding was in the heart of downtown Portland at the fantastic and funky Coopers Hall. The look and feel of industrial, urban weddings is my absolute favorite to photograph so when Holly and Brenden told me they would be tying the knot at Coopers Hall I was completely obsessed. The building is an old auto shop with all white interiors, super high ceilings, tons of windows, and plants hanging everywhere – hello dream venue. And did I mention Coopers Hall is a winery and taproom full of amazing local wine?? As a thank you and gift to guests everyone was able to fill a growler with any of the 35+ wines on tap to bring home and enjoy. I brought home a Syrah that was AMAZING! But back to the details of the day …
We started the day at The Nines Hotel in downtown Portland where both the guys and gals got ready in their separate rooms. The first look was on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking all of downtown. Although because of a local fire that day the air quality was pretty bad and the smoke blocked a lot of the view, but it was still the perfect spot for Holly and Brenden to share their first look moment. Next we were onto formal photos at a local park and then off to Coopers Hall for family photos and the ceremony!
When we got to the venue I completely fell in love. All of the plants hanging gave so much life to the otherwise very industrial space and the white walls + ceiling really kept things looking fresh and clean. After the sweet ceremony the staff flipped the space for the reception and guests enjoyed little bites and endless drinks!
The rest of the night was spent dancing, eating, drinking, and celebrating with friends and family! It was truly an unforgettable day. Thank you Holly and Brenden for including me in your wedding celebration!
After we wrapped up shooting my second shooter and I hopped back in the car and made the 3 hour drive back to Seattle. It was a super long day but I loved every minute and can’t wait to get back down to Portland for another Oregon wedding adventure.
