Being a destination wedding photographer is a rough job, but someone’s got to do it! ;) Getting the chance to explore beautiful new areas and document weddings all over the world is such a special task that I simply adore doing! This particular destination wedding holds a very special place in my heart because the bride just so happens to be my sister. When Alicia asked if I would photograph her wedding day I was honored and so excited, to say the least!
This Colorado farm wedding had a warm and inviting backyard feel with rustic farm accents and a gorgeous view to top it off. The bride and groom wanted to celebrate their union in an environment that they love surrounded by their closest friends and family and that is just what they did! Kyle and Alicia were married in the middle of a grassy field with the Colorado mountains in the distance. It was a simple yet perfect set up that allowed for guests to admire the couple and the breathtaking scenery on a warm day in June. Their reception was on a lawn beneath the trees with long, farm tables and a few fresh herbs as their centerpieces. The Heirloom Food Truck catered the event with local, fresh ingredients that lent perfectly to Kyle and Alicia’s farm fresh theme!
One of my favorite aspects of this Colorado wedding was the dessert bar. Instead of a traditional cake, Alicia and Kyle selected a few of their favorite pies to share with their guests. Following the pie cutting there was dancing in the barn and s’mores by the fire. All in all, it was a perfect day full of love, laughter and great memories! Congratulations to my big sister and new brother!
