Pioneer Square is an iconic and quaint Seattle neighborhood that features old brick buildings, tree lined streets and some serious urban charm at every corner. And those are only a few of the reasons why Shailee and Kramer decided to have their autumn wedding celebration in the heart of Seattle at Pioneer Square! The entire day was full of love, laughter, beauty and a touch of rain, just to remind us that we were in Seattle. And to be honest, the mix of sun and rain gave us the best of both worlds and we were able to snag some pretty amazing shots of Kramer and Shailee’s big day!
Their ceremony was held at Court in the Square with a reception that followed at AXIS Pioneer Square – two of the top Seattle wedding venues in this part of town! The vision for their wedding was centered on a fall color scheme with a bohemian flair. Thatch Floral created dreamy textured arrangements that lined the ceremony aisle, lush bouquets with pops of red and blush, and amazing garlands for the reception tables. Shailee wore the most amazing long sleeve gown with a gold floral pendent in her hair while Kramer sported a dark grey suit, a matching bow tie and brown leather shoes. Their reception at AXIS featured a dozen long tables that filled the room, string lights overhead, and the warmth of brick walls to create an intimate, cozy feel.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding was how the bride and groom included their families into every part of the day. From the speeches and sibling dances to the thoughtful gifts and incorporating their parents into their ceremony during the candle lighting, Shailee and Kramer’s first priority was to make sure the blending of their two families was recognized and celebrated to the fullest on their wedding day. Another fun element to their wedding was how they included their sweet dog Tilly into their day! Tilly joined Shailee as she was getting ready (and received a fun blow out of her own!), walked down the aisle, and participated in a few of the bride and groom portraits! And last but not least, my final highlight was taking Kramer and Shailee to the rooftop for a few quick portraits with the downtown Seattle skyline in the background. As a Seattle wedding photographer nothing could have made my heart happier than capturing a few iconic shots of the bride and groom with the most beautiful city as a backdrop. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a rooftop shot???
There are so many other wonderful memories from Shailee and Kramer’s October wedding but just not enough time! I hope the photos convey the love and happiness felt on this day and congratulations to the newly weds!
